Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has been recognized by flightstats.com as Europe’s most punctual airline 2009 and 2010, and the world’s most punctual airline during July and August 2011. Cheers!
So how do they celebrate this? By producing a mobile application, the TimeKiller. It's meant to keep delayed travelers who chose not to fly with them amused. This is what makes this application unique: it was not developed for their loyal customers. See the video below.
The TimeKiller app features four addictive, mindless games. From "spin the hamster" to "follow the footsteps," these games are fun and easy to understand. My personal favorite is "blow the propeller." Users can even challenge their friends or try to beat the global score. Looking at the global high scores, I sympathize for the traveller who had a long enough flight delay to “blow the propeller” 48,805 times or “spin the hamster” 14,146 times. (Grabs Tylenol…)
