Lift: Check In To Your To-Do List

Posted by Brian Brunskill on September 21, 2012

When it comes to productivity, one of my key tools is a list. They are helpful to write out and even more helpful to cross off. Take your to-do list to the next level. Imagine if you could check in to your tasks and even record notes of how it went. Now make that list social, allowing others to help encourage you to reach goals. Meet Lift, a free mobile application only available for IOS 5.0 or greater. This app allows you to do three main things: identify good habits, track performance and make progress.

When you first download the app, you may not have any idea of what exactly you need to do. Don't worry, there is something here for everyone. The application allows you to browse the most popular habits and even invent your own. Some of the to do's on here I never thought to add to a list but probably should have. From "drink more water" to "tell my wife I love her," there is a task for everyone. Every time you complete a task, simply check the checkbox on your list. These "completions" are shared through a newsfeed within the application and can be shared socially to your own networks. For the reporting geeks out there like me, List automatically compiles an easy-to-read report that tells you how well you are doing. This is an effecient way to compliment one's progress in forming habits. The only minor complaint I have with this application is that it does not send push notification reminders. But then again, I don't have someone constantly reminding me to check my to-do list, right?
